| Found out the other day from ford i can upgrade my brakes without voiding my warranty. im torn between st150 and st 170 discs on the front and i just don't really know what to put on the rear? also have no idea how much its likely to set me back? any help would be greatly appreciated! | |

I have done a 280mm focus st rear conversion on my mk5 and cost me £200,i think the best thing for yours is to have the st 170 setup on the front which is 280mm and standard focus ones on the rear which are 255mm and st150 handbrake cables Price wise the front would be around £300 i think and the rears 200ish if you can find some descent ones from the scrap yard or ebay

| Occasional blitz on the road and once the cars a bit older and the funds are a bit better it might see a few track sessions at ford fair! I have big plans for the engine once the warrantys ended! | |

| What would it take to get ST170 brakes on front and rear would they go straight on or would there be some drilling and spacing and stuff? | |

| Sorry i did mean 300mm on front what a spaz i am:( The fronts will need drilling but the rears go straight on and the hispec brakes, you need to check weather they will fit under your wheels depending on how big you want to go in rotar size | |

| Consider the Mondeo Calipers, they use ST170 discs anyway, being 4x108 instead of 5x100 pcd discs And alot cheaper and easier to find aswell, Edley will sell them for £20 per caliper. | |

| I have the Mondeo calipers on my car, there pap, but I think that's to do with the naff brake fluid and cheap pads.
However I paid £60 for pads and discs, add another £40 for calipers, £40 for some hoses and £20 for brake fluid and you'll be laughing!

| You can get pads for the Mondeo calipers, just harder to source!
I'll get some M1144's when I've got some spare money.
