Good news!!!

I thought that the end float of the crankshaft was excessive, but Jon has confirmed is as it should be Smile

WOOP!!!

Next hurdle is that parts are hard to find, and when found, expensive Sad

Need a bottom end damaged 1.7 aswell to rob parts off like Oil pick up pipe, inlet, Sensors, Pulleys etc etc

Also found out I can use SS4's and keep the VCT feature of the 1.7

It looks likely that I will use SS4's and a map, then upgrade to SS3's or SS3 Inlet with ITB's...

....I best get saving Laughing

oh man, my suggestion would make a COMPLETE sleeper, something you really would not expect this engine to be in! but depends on what approach you want to go for. old and banged up, or new and comfortable.... Smile

Lol, I would settle for a MK4 with power steering, but ideally would like a mk5

but being a bit naughty and looking at Land Rovers and MX5's....

Was unsure about keeping it, and still am, but I thought I might aswel build it as Ive got it
